Tired of the endless struggle against unwanted hair? Traditional methods like shaving and waxing can be a hassle. In this guide, we'll delve into the top tips for hair removal and explain why Super Hair Removal (SHR) technology is the ultimate solution. Say goodbye to the daily grind of hair removal and embrace a lasting, comfortable solution with SHR.
When seeking effective hair removal, the ultimate goal is permanence. Traditional methods may offer temporary relief, but SHR laser hair removal targets hair follicles at the root, delivering long-lasting results. With SHR, you can achieve the permanent hair reduction you've been longing for.
Pain is a common concern when it comes to hair removal. Unlike traditional laser treatments, SHR technology offers a virtually painless experience. Discover a more comfortable way to remove unwanted hair without the discomfort often associated with other methods.
Time is precious, and SHR technology respects that. With quicker treatment sessions compared to traditional methods, you can enjoy efficient hair removal. Even smaller areas like the upper lip can be treated in as little as 5-10 minutes, making it perfect for those with busy schedules.
When choosing a hair removal method, consider your skin type. SHR is designed to cater to a wide range of skin tones and hair colours. Whether you have fair or dark skin, and light or dark hair, SHR can effectively target your unwanted hair. It's a versatile solution for everyone.
Hair removal should be convenient, not disruptive. After an SHR session, you can immediately return to your daily activities. There's no need for post-treatment downtime, unlike waxing, which can leave your skin red and sensitive. Say goodbye to interruptions in your routine.
Avoiding burns during hair removal is essential. Unlike IPL, which may sometimes cause burns or discomfort, our SHR machine includes a high-powered cooling system. This feature safeguards your skin, ensuring a comfortable and safe experience during the treatment.
For further skin protection, we apply ultrasound gel before the SHR treatment. This gel acts as a protective barrier, enhancing your comfort and safety throughout the procedure. Rest assured that your skin remains shielded without compromising the effectiveness of the SHR treatment.
SHR vs. IPL: While both SHR and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) target hair follicles, SHR technology has a broader spectrum of light and a more gradual heating process. This makes SHR a more comfortable and efficient option for many individuals. Additionally, SHR is typically suitable for a wider range of skin tones and hair types compared to IPL.
SHR vs. Waxing: Waxing can be painful, and it requires hair to be a certain length before treatment. In contrast, SHR laser hair removal can be done on shorter hair, and the sessions are virtually pain-free. Plus, with SHR, you won’t have to worry about the recurring costs of waxing appointments and products.
SHR vs. Shaving: Shaving is a daily chore that can lead to razor burns, nicks, and ingrown hairs. SHR offers a long-lasting solution without the hassle and discomfort of frequent shaving.
These are a few of our frequently asked questions. If any of your questions aren’t answered here, please feel free to contact us and our qualified therapist will assist you.
We use an SHR machine which stands for Super Hair Removal. SHR is advanced laser technology that produces excellent results in fewer sessions and is virtually painless. SHR is compatible with all skin tones and all hair colours except for red and white hair.
laser hair removal with SHR laser is virtually painless. The part of the machine that is in contact with the skin has a built in cooling system to prevent burns and pain from the laser. At most, you will feel a pin-prick sensation in very sensitive areas. If you feel any pain or discomfort during your treatment, please tell the therapist and they will adjust the settings according to your skin needs.
The number of sessions you need differs from person to person. The laser is more effective if there is a high contrast between skin colour and hair colour and if you normally shave instead of wax or epilate. It can also depend on if your diet is full of vitamins and nutrients that encourage hair growth. You will most likely see results after 2 sessions and a minimum of 4 is recommended.
There is no downtime required. You may experience some mild redness and sensitivity but this should subside in a day or two. If it persists, please notify the therapist before your next session. Please do your best to avoid direct sun exposure for 7 days before and after treatment and use sun protection for the course of the treatment.
We recommend that you schedule your next session for 21-28 days after your treatment. This is because your hair grows in cycles and shaving during the 21-28 days will allow for the next cycle of hair growth to be targeted. This will continue until you are satisfied with your hair removal results.
There is a 5-10 minute consultation on your first session if this is the first time you are using laser. The treatment time varies depending on the size of the area being treated. Treatment for underarms takes about 10-15 minutes and full legs for women can take approximately 45 minutes.
We take the utmost precaution to minimise the risk of burning. We apply ultrasound gel to the area and the machine itself has a powerful cooling system to keep the part in contact with the skin cool. Even with these precautions, the laser may still feel warm on the skin. If you experience any burning sensation during the treatment, please notify the therapist and she will adjust the laser settings accordingly. We do ask that you avoid exposure to direct sunlight 7 days before and after treatment and apply sunblock if mild sun exposure to the area is expected.
For the laser to be able to target the hair follicle, the hair needs to be on the dermis of the skin. This means that if you normally wax or epilate the area, then please wait at least 2 weeks before scheduling your laser hair removal session and only shave during this time. We recommend that you shave the night before treatment so that the hair follicle can be easily targeted without risking any burns to the skin.
